Bibliography: Abdolrahman Namdar was born in Arabshah-khan Kaleybar, East Azarbaijan State, Iran, on September, 25, 1961. He received the B.S., M.S. and Ph. D. degrees University of Tabriz, Iran, in 1987 , 1990 , 1999, respectively, all in physics. 1999 to 2006 he was an assistant professor and 2006 to 2010 he was an associate professor in physics department at Azarbaijan Shahid Madani university, Tabriz, Iran. In July 2010 he joined the faculty of physics of the university of Tabriz, he is a professor in the department of atomic and molecular physics.
His research interests and activities are in the areas of nonlinear optics, fiber optics, lasers, photonic crystals, magnetophotonic crystals, electromagnetic surface waves, single negative and left-handed metamaterials, optical properties of graphene. He was in sabbatical leave in the nonlinear physics centre, Research school of Physical Science and Engineering, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia for about one year in 2006 as a research fellow. He has published some papers on the metamaterial in collaboration with Prof. Yuri S. Kivshar.
He is Dean of faculty of physics at university of Tabriz, 2014.
